We had a wonderful Valentine's Day! We thought it would be fun to go to a place in Solana Beach called, "Cupcake Love." It was their Grand Opening and the Cupcake Princess was there to meet us!

We also went to Sammy's Woodfired Pizza and ate a delicious meal. Of course we couldn't leave without getting the best dessert on the menu...vanilla icecream smoothered with whipped cream, peanuts and chocolate syrup, and a cherry to top it off! What a treat!

VALENTINES SCHOOL PARTY

Kai had a wonderful Valentine's Party at her school. They decorated heart shaped cookies with sprinkles and frosting!

Her classmates exchanged valentine cards and goody bags with eachother!

The classroom was decorated in red, white and pink...so pretty!

Kai has so many friends in her class and loves them very much!

Kai gave Mr. Heaton and Mrs. Stokes chocolate covered apples with a green chewy worm in the middle...so cute!

SPAGHETTI WAR

After eating our spaghetti dinner on a monday night, Jake thought it would be fun to start a Spaghetti War! He told Hailey to turn around while she was sitting at the table and he threw a load of noodles towards her face!!! After that, you can only imagine what came next...

Bombs Away! We were laughing so hard while the noodles were flying everywhere! Scrappy really enjoyed his dinner for the night!

Hailey has been practicing very hard to write all her ABC's the right way along with the right sound. All of her hard work paid off! Just like Kai, we told her when she learned how to do this she would be rewarded with earrings! The first week of February she finally did it! CONGRATS HAILEY!!!

I told the girls when I was younger and got my ears pierced I brought a teddy bear with me. Hailey wanted to bring her favorite stuffed horse to help her too!

Two ladies pierced Hailey's ears at the same time. She didn't know what was going on until afterwards...

Hailey was such a Big Girl! They gave her a lollipop for being so brave!

We are so proud of Hailey!

We told Hailey she could pick out a fun place to get a treat, (its tradition). Just like Kai she picked Jamba Juice!

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK

The beginning of February was Teacher Appreciation Week. All the kids in Kai's class wore Mr. Heaton's favorite color, yellow and suprised him all week long with gifts!

He recieved puzzels, a potted plant with all their names on it, games for the classroom...etc.

Kai gave him a bag full of dog treats and toys (for his dog), an apple & chocolate treats! Yummy!

Mr. Heaton is an amazing teacher!

PAJAMA DAY

Hailey enjoyed her first Sunday this year in Primary as a new Sunbeam! She did such a wonderful job and was very reverent! Hailey loves her new teachers and learns so much from them every Sunday. We are very proud of her!

CHRISTMAS IN SAN DIEGO

Merry Christmas! After we got back from our trip to Arizonia, we had our own Christmas since we didn't bring all the presents with us to AZ. It turned out great!

Santa brought a wallet to Kai...on her Christmas list she said this is what she wanted really bad!:)

Hailey loved the strawberry scented "My Little Pony" that Santa gave her...so cute!

We had a great Christmas with our family this year and can't wait for next year!

CHRISTMAS IN AZ

We had a wonderful time in Arizonia for Christmas! We ate so much food, sang carols and read, "Twas the Night Before Christmas."

Santa brought robes for all the Men in the house! Looking Good!

The girls were suprised to wake up in the morning and see that Santa knew exactly where to find them! Ho, Ho, Ho!

We have lots of fun going to see Uncle Scott, Grandma & Grandpa!

It's tradition every year to make a gingerbread house...who doesn't LOVE frosting, gum drops, gum balls, mints, etc...we sure do!

SINGING AT THE NURSING HOME

This year for Christmas we thought of doing something really special!

We visited a Nursing Home in Poway and sang Christmas Carols! The girls wanted to be bring candy canes and reindeers for everyone to enjoy! Everyone had so much fun...including Scrappy!!!

We went to a restaurant downtown to celebrate the occasion!

There was plenty of food to eat! Everything was delicious!

Every year we have a white elephant gift exchange...it's so much fun!

TRAIN RIDE

We took the Pacific Surfliner from Solana Beach to San Juan Capistrano this past Christmas season! Everyone had such a fun time!

The girls loved watching the other trains go by waiting patiently for theirs.

Pappy & Hailey had a great idea to switch their sunglasses...How Cute!!!

Snack time! We got a seperate table with 4 seats, it was so much fun! Kai & Hailey thought it was the coolest thing ever!

We all had a relaxing time watching the ocean waves and the surfers as we made our way to our destination. We hope to do it again really soon!

ZOOMARS PETTING ZOO & THE RIOS DISTRICT

We took time to visit the Los Rios Historic District at Dana Point in December. We even got to spend time at Zoomars Petting Zoo...The girls loved it!

Cowboy Santa wanted us to stay longer!!!

There was a HUGE Christmas tree at the park...the town was getting ready for their annual tree lighting ceremony.

Another beautiful sunset in San Diego! We had a wonderful time with eachother in Del Mar. The weather was so warm at the beach. It was in the 80's as the sun was setting! Our girls love spending time in the water and the sand, who doesn't...it's so Relaxing!

Kai caught Hailey in my bedroom with scissors in her hand cutting off her beautiful curls!!! She ran into the office where I was and told me what Hailey was doing. I ran into the room and saw her curls all over my floor!!! I asked her why she did it and she said she thought it would be fun! Brittany gave her a very cute hair cut and now Hailey looks so stylish! Thanks Britt!

TOOTH FAIRY VISIT

Kai just turned 5 yrs old in October and one of her bottom teeth fell out Nov. 2nd!!! She was so excited for her first tooth to be pulled out! Kai waited for 1 week and wanted her Dad to pull it out. She wanted to get a special Tooth Fairy Box to put the tooth in. Jake pulled it out and then the next night (after we got the tooth fairy box) the Tooth Fairy came and sprinkled magical fairy dust all over her bed and gave her $5.00!

We are so proud of Kai...she is beautiful!!!

We thought we would take Kai to see Disney on Ice for one of her birthday presents! We have never been before but had a wonderful experience! The Sports Arena was packed with people as we made our way to our seats. It was a magical night for all of us!

All of the Disney characters were there, even the princesses! Kai & Hailey both loved it!

We absolutely LOVE Disneyland at Halloween Time!

Our passes expire this month so we asked the girls what rides they really wanted to go on...The Haunted Mansion and Pirates!

Disneyland had a special area reserved for petting billy goats in Frontier Land. The girls loved it!

Goofey wished Kai a very Happy Birthday on the phone and she also got a birthday pin. This, of course, is her favorite time of year!

We have so much fun everytime we go to Disneyland! There are so many things to do and so many princesses to see!!!

Kai just started Kindergarten Pepp on Tuesday, August 19th. She LOVES it!!! Mr. Heaton is her teacher and Mrs. Stokes is his assistant. There are 7 girls and 13 boys in her class. She is so excited to learn how to read and make new friends! Kai is in ballet and soccer this season and can't wait to have lots of FUN!!! We love her so much! This school year will give her the opportunity to learn and grow . She is our Cutie!!!

Kai wanted to get her bangs cut for school and our friend, Brittany cut them! She looks adorable...all grown up!

Kai and Hailey found a really cute caterpillar on our tree outside and wanted to keep it as a pet!

They feed the caterpillar twice a day with plenty of leaves. When they get up in the morning they run up to the jar and smile at their cute, little pet! They can't wait for the caterpillar to turn into a beautiful butterfly!!!

6 1/2 Week Ultrasound

My first appointment was on July 31st and my doctor said she was going to perform an ultrasound. I had no idea they could see a baby in there so soon...

The baby was only 6 1/2 weeks along at that time...getting bigger by the second!

Deep Sea Fishing Adventure

Jake, Josh and Lee took some, "Man Time" and headed out to the ocean to go Deep Sea Fishing!

Their boat left around 8:00 pm Saturday night and made its way into Mexico for an exciting mission...to catch lots of fish!!!

There were about 3o people on board the boat. They ate really well...there was a cook who made all the food for everyone.

Look at that Fish!!! Great job Jake!!!

Next year they will go Deep Sea Fishing again...and then maybe bring home a shark!

Uncle Scott's Visit to San Diego

We had a wonderful time when Uncle Scott came to visit us in San Diego for almost 3 weeks...we had lots of fun adventures with him...

The Wild Animal Park was so exciting...Very HOT...but we had a great time!!!

Every other day we went to the beach to go boogie boarding and just relax! It was fun burying the girls and Scott!!!

We didn't have much luck at the Del Mar Races...but we had lots of fun!

Jake took Scott to go snorkeling at La Jolla Cove...they saw a seal and lots of cool fish underneath the water!

Maybe next summer he will visit us again...We love you Uncle Scott!!!

Its been so HOT inland that we decided to go to Del Mar Beach. It was a 15-20 degrees difference! We had so much fun making sand castles and playing with the seaweed!!! Take Me Out To The Ball Game!

We had such a fun time at the baseball game on June 12th, Padres vs. the Dodgers. Jake and I got to go alone without the girls and spend some time together. We got awesome seats, right behind home plate! The closer you are the more fun the game is. We even got to be on the big screen tv!!! The Padres won the game!!!

MEMORIAL DAY

Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day! We were feeling very patriotic and decided to go to Point Loma. The weather was beautiful at the coast as we made our way towards the Cabrillo National Monument. We stopped on the way to find a Memorial service and listened for awhile as they honored soldiers that have died for us. We have never done anything like this and wanted the girls to understand why we have Memorial Day. A little ways up ahead was the monument. Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo was the first European to set foot on the West Coast in 1542. We also went to the Old Point Loma Light House built in 1855. It only operated for 36 years until it was too hard for sailors to find their way through the fog since it was 422 ft above sea level. A family called the Israels lived here for 18 years with their 3 boys and niece until the new Point Loma lighthouse was built at the end of the point on a lower elevation and they moved. The last place we went to were the tide pools. The girls loved splashing around in the water and playing with crabs!
